This is my unedited and raw video of Dachau concentration camp yesterday
I just do not get how people can be this cruel to one another. It’s disgusting. What does it take to convince an entire organization (in this case the SS) that people are so subhuman they can be treated worse than farm animals? It’s unconsciously something that I cannot wrap my mind around, and now we are seeing another organization (the Russian military) inflicting the same horrors against Ukrainian defenseless civilians . I just don’t understand it. Sometimes my posts like this one will be serious and introspective. I think it’s important we remember that history repeats itself and atrocities exist over and over again throughout time and across all geopolitical landscapes. I just know when I put my focus on people’s shared humanity even on those who have been cruel to me, I’m at peace with myself. How anyone could do the things I learned about yesterday (human experiments, hours in the cold, death marches, etc) just baffles me. Let’s never forget these atrocities and continue to do our part to bring peace to the world. #holocaust #history #shoah #auschwitz #ww #neverforget #weremember #worldwar #dachau #neveragain #jewish #wwii #poland #annefrank #holocaustmemorial #jewishhistory #concentrationcamp #jews #onthisday #germany #remember #auschwitzbirkenau #stolpersteine #nazi #holocausto #secondworldwar #birkenau #gunterdemnig #annefrankhouse #ukraine

MAJDANEK is located in a suburb of Lublin, Poland. The perimeter incorporated a highly electrified double barbed-wire fence and 19 watchtowers, where guards stood watch to ensure no one escaped. The camp was comprised of 5 sections, including 22 prisoner barracks, 7 gas chambers, 2 wooden gallows, a small crematorium and various other “essential” buildings such as storehouses, workshops, laundries and coal storehouses. A larger crematorium was added in ‘43. The first prisoners arrived at Majdanek in 1941, throughout the next 2 years many groups followed, included inmates from Soviet prisoner of war and from other concentration camps, such as Sachsenhausen, Dachau, Buchenwald, Auschwitz, Neuengamme and Flossenberg. Other groups included Polish civilians who had been arrested, Jews from Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Belgium, and Greece, non-Jews from Belorussia and Ukraine, and Polish farmers who had been forcefully removed from their homes. People from 28 countries of 54 nationalities, were incarcerated in Majdanek. On November 3, 1943, approx 18,000 Jews were shot to death in one single day, this final massacre was part of the "Erntefest" operation, they were into giant pits, whilst in the background, the nazis blared dance music to drown out the sounds of the killing and the dying. Some of the Jewish prisoners were taken immediately to the gas chambers upon arrival, in this regard, some historians consider Majdanek to be an extermination camp, not only a concentration camp. Approximately 360,000 victims perished at Majdanek. #shoah #majdanek #ash

Tarnow was a small Polish town with a quiet life, nearby, a few kilometers away there was a small town: Zbylitowska Gora. The greatest pride of the town was a big forest where it seemed that only beauty and peace could be there, a forest full of tall trees, however it was turned into a sad and cruel scene where it was the last destination of many thousands. Some 800 children were transported on tractors to the Zbylitowska Gora forest, forcibly lowered, lined up and then shot in the neck. They fell one by one to the well dug in the middle of the forest. At the entrance is a monument with steps leading to a tall, narrow building that remembers and honors the victims who lie there. Beneath the monument there are different pits, some are surrounded by blue fences, others by white ones. The blue ones correspond to Jews, the white ones to Poles. There is also an other one that is full of letters, drawings, toys, candles and photos. It is the grave of the children massacred by the Nazis. Today we are here, we enter to the forest in the middle of trees that move with the wind and that speak to us, they tell us different stories and between wind and silence there is an inexplicable noise. Today we come to remember and pray for those children, our prayers are heard and the wind echoes us. #wind #trees #letters #massgrave #child #shoah #memorial #rememberthem #forest #children #kids #candles
